bananafleet

noun/bəˈnɑːnəfliːt/buh-NAH-nuh-fleet

A group of people who say banana whenever the proper word is not to hand — lorem ipsum spoken aloud, every placeholder the same fruit.

The missing word is never really the point. Once someone says “then we banana the banana until the banana is ready”, everyone in the fleet knows exactly which parts of that sentence were load-bearing, and the real words are left to arrive later, or never, and either is fine.

“Can you banana the banana before Friday?”
— a bananafleet in full sail
“Sorry — I have gone completely banana.”
— someone one word short
Coined
